The Tale-Teller sat down on the barstool in the corner of the inn, the man making more of a protesting groan than the stool. The mounted candles on the walls cast an eerie light over his weatherworn face. Half in dark, half in light the man gave a half smile that reached both his eyes…
“So, what tale shall I be telling today?” he asked in his gruff yet somehow soothing tone.
Instantly the hands of ten children shot up. Eager as they were to each have there chosen tale heard, they had learned that the Tale-Teller rewarded patience and silence more than a group of rowdy children.
The Tale-Teller pointed at a child with dirty blonde hair and a black eye. “I want to hear the tale of Spyro The Great.”
The Tale-Teller took a sip of ale and all other hands simultaneously went down. He gently placed his mug upon the bar… then the tale began.
It was a tale he had told over a thousand times. It was the tale of Spyro Goldenfyre, and how he had gone ‘From Gutter to Godhood’. That was the title he had given it in his mind. However it had only took a few tellings for him to realise that for the tale to be truly understood one must go back to when Spyro sat with his back to a tree eating an apple and listening to the birds sing. Back to a little village that to this day hasn’t even been given a name.
For it was in this village that Spyro trained, loved, prayed, killed and wept. It was from this village that he ran to escape what had been done. In it’s forest that he killed a Bugroth, honed his skills with a blade and swore vengeance against ‘Tyrodin God of War’ the being for which Spyro’s misfortune had been blamed.
It is on the back of a wagon, that this wild boy made his way from the trees to the city, to the gutter that he would come to call home. In this city he would learn the hard ways of life on the streets, the instincts he acquired here would save his life on more than one occasion.
From here he would make his way to Meigis’ College of Magic in an attempt to tame a power he could not control. Here he would make far more enemies than friends. He would eventually run away again as he always seemed to do, and as per usual he would just run headlong into yet more danger. To escape the clutches of the rich he would stow aboard a random ship, where he would eventually become a major part of the crew aboard the stolen skygalleon. Him along with the rest of the sky pirate crew would go on many an adventure where he would gather artefacts key to the completion of his quest.
In the end he would battle Tyrodin and end up on the run once again, this time he would run to Teradin where no god he knew could ever find him. Here he would do his best to forget who he was so that he may start anew. This is where Spyro’s first story ends and his new one begins…
Welcome to the twin worlds of Taredin and Teradin. Alike in so many ways, the two worlds are far from the same. In Taredin all manners of monster reign free, whilst in Teradin a far greater threat looms and not all is as it seems.
“And so,” The Tale Teller said, pausing only for a moment to take a sip of ale, “Jack, after completing his first mission, returned with . . .
And so, with the Laurence issue dealt with, Jack spent his afternoon with Clarrett. He told her of his projects, of his life, of getting . . .

As I say, the website is a work in progress and there won’t be a regular schedule for these blog posts for a while, as I will be mainly focussed on designing the rest of the website. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
